To You My Mother
I may have laughed, I may have cried,
All my tears my mother then you wiped.
Bringing me to this Earth, a gift of
countless values,
I wish I could show you I love you too,
as you do.
It was my first day to school, and your
Loving fingers, I didn’t want to leave,
For the world out there was so new to me,
Unaware of the way my innocence shall
They perceive.
I passed my days, waiting for your loving
Embrace,
When the school bell shall bring me to you,
Away from the killers of- my happiest days.
In your presence I was joyous again, I could be
just me with you, and my naïve chatter began.
If not for you, I’d have missed the affectionate
platter,
You were there, primary reason for my world
Becoming better.
Your protective nature, for the others should I
detest?
No, I now know the value, of a mother’s heart
knowing the best.
You remain ill now, and sometimes thus angry,
But to eat your cheer, I was always hungry.
Making on my birthday sweet ‘halwa’ cakes,
Eating your foods of affection I still feel blessed.
From the sunrise of my life till I see the moon
shine in my nights,
You took care of everything and my army in
my fights.
When I am alone in the world even in crowds,
I fear of losing without you, even before I aim
for the clouds.
For you my love I don’t often show,
But you’ll always be my anchor, that I know.
